At Giresun University’s TÖMER (with faculty members who are experts in their fields, in classes of 7–15 students), in addition to teaching Turkish to foreign students, other languages (English, Russian, Arabic, Persian, etc.) are also taught. Language instruction is based on the equal development of the four core language skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Language instruction is supported by audiovisual tools such as televisions and DVD players available in every classroom.
All faculty members at Giresun University TÖMER are graduates of university departments in Turkish Language and Literature, Turkish Language Teaching, Linguistics, Philology, and Language Teaching. All of our faculty members have pursued or are currently pursuing academic careers at various universities, primarily at Giresun University.
Students who complete the basic and intermediate levels by attending the courses are eligible to receive a certificate signed by the GRÜ TÖMER Directorate, while students who successfully complete the Advanced Level are eligible to receive a diploma approved by the Rector’s Office of Giresun University. Additionally, GRÜ TÖMER certificates and diplomas in the language being studied are accepted as a reference for determining language proficiency by many public and private institutions.
